The Stewards fined M.F. Mooney, rider of Hawkeye Hero, ?200 under Rule 196 for failing to present himself to be weighed out. The Stewards further allowed the substitution C. Brassil for M.F. Mooney in this race. I.J. McCarthy, rider of Cappuccino Man, trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount found the ground too quick. The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last hurdle involving Laid Back Luke, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed second and Mount Beckham, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed first, where it appeared both horses bumped in the closing stages. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
