Gobi Star comes home well in claimer
He seemed to relish the surface. We always thought he'd want a cut in the ground but he loved that surface, he does train on it at home to be fair. He did it well today so I'm very pleased. He could be claimed and I'll probably put a friendly claim in for him. He's a good sort of horse. It's nine for the year for Trevor (Dalzell, owner) so it would be nice to get him 10. I think that's his career-best run if you analyse his form. He took a long time to win a maiden and the form of some of his maidens were ordinary enough. Some of the others had ratings, but it's a question of whether they are running to them. If he went up for that, it might put you off claiming him. It was good to get a winner.

Lynam doubles up with fast-finishing Navarra Pace
I'm delighted to win for John and Mary (Keaney). I went to school with John so I know him for 50 years, we grew up on the same road,. The horse did it well. He's a home-bred and it's a good old family he's from too. We'll probably find a handicap and step him up to a mile. He was plenty green and it looked like a pretty rough race too.
Lynam seals treble with three different jockeys
He's a bit of a character, but Sorcha gave him a good confident ride. She comes in three mornings a week to ride out and I'm delighted for her,. She won on Tide Of Time earlier in the year and she's a trier. You've got to kid him a bit but he has a little bit about him, he's not devoid of ability. When he went by the line I thought he had definitely won, but then I thought it was tight enough. He's won a few here and has run a couple of good races lately, so I'm delighted.
Cousin Shay sweeps home from last to first
He's obviously had ability but he's very immature. You can see when he saw the flash of the camera here he was jumping. He's a baby still, mentally and physically. It was good to get his win and I'm delighted to get one for Damian (Lavelle, owner). Hopefully he can kick on and go on during the winter. He had a good run here in January and then had a little mishap. He came on for the last day and hit the line well there today so hopefully there is more to come.
Instrumental back in winning groove for McAuley
That was brilliant. He's a grand horse, all he does is sleep at home and, even here at the races, I was tacking him up and his eyes were closed. I was thinking 'would you wake up?' because it's been one of those days. They've been running alright earlier on and it's grand to get one over the line. Colin was very good on him. Finke (River) didn't get much of a run around in the last race. It's nice to keep a bit of momentum going. They are running well, we ran plenty of them up here today and claimed one in the first so it would have been an expensive day if we didn't get one.
McConnell and Hoban grab brace through St Cianans Fire
That's great. He handled the surface as a two-year-old, he ran quite well here as a two-year-old, but last year he just wasn't right and didn't go well here at all. We were hopeful enough he'd handle the surface and Conor gave him a lovely ride, he's done it well. He travels well and he doesn't kill himself when he hits the front, so hopefully there might be another day in him. Simon (Condron), who owns him, has been very patient with him so it's paying off now.
Lily Of The Glen toughs it out under Leonard
She has been competitive in these handicaps at this level before and it was nice that everything fell right for her today. Luckily enough she got in as a reserve and Killian (Leonard) gave her a lovely spin around. He got a lovely position from a bad draw and she stayed on well. He said she battled well to the line. Hopefully the handicapper will be kind and we'll find another race for her at this sort of level and trip. I'd say that's her trip and we'll see how it goes over the winter.
