Broad & Cleary land 40/1 winner
We fancied him today. He ran well a couple of times earlier in the year and then the ground dried up. He seems to like Navan, he's been second here a couple of times, and going on his old form he was very well handicapped. It's great to get a winner for the Lavelle family, they had a few quid on at big prices and everything worked grand. He's in again on Saturday at Limerick and more than likely will run. Jack (Cleary) was very cool on him and he's a good young lad. I know his Dad (fellow trainer) Mick going back a long way so it's nice to have Jack on board today.
Gaps open for McCullagh on Sounds Of Spring
He won his maiden here at a similar time last year. He likes soft ground so we pulled up with him in June and waited for this time of the year. Hopefully we can get him out at least once more before the season ends. Niall (McCullagh) remarked there that he is a horse with a little bit of ability. It just got a bit tight there and when he did get motoring it was great to see him finish out so well. It's maybe horses for courses as he did win his maiden here. He did run well in the spring a few times but it's always competitive here in Ireland, he's just had to wait his turn and he got it today which is great. We'll try and find something similar in the next few weeks and he'll stay in training next year as well.

Excuzio Joe relishes conditions under Roche
She's genuine and gutsy. The drop back to a mile on a stiff track and the rain helped her. I would have been disappointed if she didn't nearly win today. She ran well in Listowel last time. I'm delighted for (owner) Gordon Cranston who is a grand lad to train for, he doesn't put any pressure on. We won't complain as it was a good summer but we've been waiting on that drop of rain for her. We'll get her out again soon as she's tough and hardy.
Coen excels on Donnelly's Dha Leath
She deserved that as she's been knocking on the door and the bit of rain that fell helped as she does like a bit of juice in the ground. She's by Mehmas but she stays well and she's tough out. She had dropped to a nice mark. She was doing things right as a two-year-old and we thought she wasn't too bad. I thought if she brought anything like that to the races today it would make all the difference. It was a long half furlong at the finish!. She has a bit of form on the all-weather but I'd say she's probably better off on the grass and maybe she has improved for a little bit of time as well.
