Never Rains wins opening Claimer and is bought-back
she was probably the classiest filly in that race for a claimer. I just rode her straight-forward. Denis and the lads said to drop her in fourth or fifth and try and see if I could get her to come home and that's what happened thank-God. She ran a good race last time but was a bit unlucky coming out of the stalls as she got a bit squeezed. She came home late and fast but thank-God we did the business there.
Murtagh trains his first winner for Gigginstown
that was great. It's the first time she's been in a 0-65 for a while. She ran well in Navan and she got 3lb for finishing second and that's her grade. She was brave and she battled well. Hopefully she can win again. Eddie (O'Leary, brother and racing manager to the winning owner) was on before the result and said he'd take half a loaf. He got a full loaf!
Bigger And Better rewards patient owners with 25/1 win
He was a nice horse for Richard Hannon in England in the past and he had niggly problems for Tony but had him right on the day. I had great luck with horses like Lyreen Wonder and Lyreen Legend in the past. it was the last throw of the dice today but he's a horse that always showed plenty. He was placed first time for us and it took us a long time to get him right. I always thought there was a day like today but it's taken a long time and the man that owns him has been very patient and I'm delighted for him. There was always potential there and at least we got it right today. He had a lot of issues but he was fair good today and he probably needed all the time he got.

Murtagh and Coen combine for Gowran doubles
she was knocking on the door, she had been second a couple of times. I was a bit worried about the ground because I told the lads at the start of the year that I thought she wanted really fast ground. Ryan who rides her out every day said I had to run her as she's in such good form. She was bouncing at home and she won well today. She was a filly that we always liked and it's only about time she got her turn. He said she was travelling really well and picked up really well. We're delighted with that.
Bashiyr scores for Weld & Hayes
he did it well. He ran a good race first time out here and followed it up there with a nice performance. He's tough and he's genuine, he's a nice horse. He put his head down and battled well. We wanted to see how we got on here today before making a decision where we go with him. We'll see how he comes out of the race before seeing where we go.

Presto maintains unbeaten record in finale
we were borderline running him because of the ground, we thought it wasn't just the way he wants it and he wants really good ground. I thought it was a nice performance. We did a bit of work with him the other morning and Shane rode him so he knew him, he knew what his strengths and weaknesses might be. Down at the bottom of the hill I thought he had it all to do but he stayed on strong. He is just getting his act together and you probably wouldn't be running every couple of weeks, let him relax and settled and go back to himself. After the last day it took him a while to settle again after it but that was his first race so he was entitled to that. Where we go now I don't know we're just happy with today.
