Bainne claimed after taking Gowran opener
I'd have been disappointed if she didn't win at the weight she was put in. Claimers are a good opportunity for horses that are getting a bit behind in handicaps, and I think there should be one of them every week. I'd imagine that she will be claimed and if we lose her we lose her. Colin gave her a super ride as she has to come through horses and be codded a bit. That is as quick as she wanted, and the shower earlier was a blessing.
Prince springs a surprise under Whelan
He behaved badly at the Curragh. Chris (Hayes) thinks he got stage fright and he did everything wrong. He's a tough horse and Ronan said he still doesn't know what he's doing. Nothing else wanted to lead so he let him bowl along. It wasn't the plan. He'll go for the Sale before racing on Irish Champion Stakes day at Leopardstown.
Birthday joy for McCreery as Joyce prevails
She's a tough little nut, and a mile the last day was too far for her on the ground. She loves that fast ground. Billy rode her patient and just hoped the gap would come.
Peter joins Willie on scoresheet at Gowran
She's been knocking on the door, and he gave her a great ride to get up the rail. She's in again over a mile at Galway on Monday and will probably go there.
Tree makes all for the O'Brien's
Consistent Beach wins again
He's very consistent and the blinkers helped to sharpen him up a bit. He's learning all the time and Seamie said he loved the fast ground. He quickened up good to put the race to bed. His work has been exceptional for a horse with that rating. That's a good trip for him.
Rashaan just gets up to deny Dalmatia
He got a fright in the Galway Hurdle going down to the first, and just wouldn't have the same experience as a lot of those handicappers. He lost his confidence and this was a good opportunity to get him back. On his hurdle form he was entitled to win it. That will leave him spot on for Listowel. He'll be entered in the Lartigue Hurdle and will probably get top-weight. He rattled off that ground, and will tip away as long as the ground is not heavy. He could even go to Dundalk.
