Moskovite wins at her 1st attempt over racecourse fences
She’s only back in training six weeks but when I saw the small entry I decided to put her in even though the trip could be too short,. Hopefully she’ll be a better chaser (than a hurdler). She seemed to enjoy it there. She had very little schooling done so that should bring her on. She’s exciting. I was looking forward to her going chasing and she’s done it well there. I’d hope there is a bit more to come.
Tyner has Dontdooddson spot on after a break
Effernock Lad keeps Keane's good run going
I thought the ground might have dried up too much for him as he likes a good cut in it,. He’s a very consistent horse and we’ve had him since he was a three-year-old. We intended to win a point-to-point and sell him but he never won a point-to-point and has won seven now on the track. He’s probably better over fences and he’s better handicapped over hurdles. He’s got a bad old cut and hopefully he’s alright. I think a horse jumped into him. For some reason they are running out of their skin this year. We have a few nice ones on the Flat and they are healthy and well.
Western gamble on Lord foiled by Sea
He loved it and jumped great. A couple of times he was keen last year so we decided to drop him in to relax and he completely goes asleep,. When he’s ridden competitively like that he comes alive. We learned that the last day in Tramore where he just got beat, and we said we’d wait for this race as it’s his bracket for horses rated 109 or less (over hurdles). Hopefully he’ll give us a bit of fun over fences, and the fact that he won over 2m5f today means there are a few more options for him going a trip. I’m lucky to have Tommy Ward in the yard. He’s from Mountmellick and ever since he came to us he’s given the yard a great boost. Hopefully we’ll have a bit more luck for him.
Cawley takes his Opportunity at the After-Party for 2nd year running
We were having a very lean time, and this has been a lucky hunting ground. We nearly had a double,. I came here today thinking he’d badly need a run. He’s been off for nine months with a bit of an injury. We knew he was fit at home but you can only do so much at home.
It keeps getting better for Mon Storm at Sligo
That’s three times he’s won here. He’s schooled well and the September Storm’s all jump well,. It was good to start him off over fences at three miles as they go a bit slower. Sometimes they are taken off their feet over two miles when they are novicey.
Stamina test suits Doran The Legend well
He was good. Maybe he got a little bit of a fright the last day in Tramore, first run in a handicap on a tight enough circuit,.
