Miss Palm justifies favouritism in Sligo opener
We're thrilled with that, she was very good to us last year. She won the Gain Mares Final at Ballynoe and its nice for her to have her first win on the track. I was a bit concerned about the ground but it dried just enough. She stayed on well at the finish and Barry said that a bit further would suit her. She might go over fences at some stage. With the ground being heavy I thought the two miles would be ok for her today. She was entered in Clonmel as well but the ground there is a bit firm.
Zabana obliges on second start over hurdles
I thought he'd win today but I thought he'd win easier. Robbie said he hated the ground down the bottom and he was struggling through it. He'll like it a bit better and a bit further as well. We'll find something over two mile two for him now. He'll stay jumping now as he is enjoying it. If he hadn't missed the last two he would have won handier but we're happy with that. At home he jumps hurdles like fences.

O'Donoghue shines on Castletown Bridge
That was grand. The handicapper gave him eight pounds for finishing fifth the last day and I'm glad he won for the owner. He'll probably run in a couple of novice hurdles now in England. Keith gave him a great ride. He took his time and he let them race away and followed on. It worked out grand.
Drama at Sligo as Seskinane is disqualified
I Never Knew That springs a surprise
To tell you the truth I wasn't going to run her when I got here. I thought she wouldn't go on the ground. David gave her a super ride. I saw in the last few races that the front runners were struggling to get home, so I told him to drop her out and ride for a place. She skated in and I'm surprised she goes on that ground as she's by Anshan and she needs good ground. She will probably jump a fence soon.
Minella Friend impresses in the bumper
All roads lead to Brightwells (sale on Wednesday 29th) next week. I nearly had him sold this morning but I said I'd take my chance with him here. He is a grand little horse and jumping is his game. This is my first time at the races in Sligo.
