Tudor gets off the mark in Fairyhouse opener
she deserved that and we're delighted! Alfie (Walsh) deserves it more than anyone as he's been waiting a long time. She's a nice mare and we'll probably go over fences with her now. I'll have to discuss it with Alfie but John (Cullen) always said she'd jump a fence. She's maybe still learning a bit but has a nice national hunt pedigree and it's good for the family, which we have at home. I hope to run her brother in a point-to-point on Sunday.
Pairofbrowneyes scores for Doyle/Heskin
he's a half-brother to Master Of The Hall and is the most gorgeous horse. They didn't want to go point-to-pointing with him and was only four when we gave him a few runs over fences. He was fourth the last day in a good race and ran better than I thought he would and we decided to nip back over hurdles and look after his novice status. He's a big green baby and has a real national hunt pedigree; we'll look for a staying novice for him and will probably keep him to two-and-a-half miles.
Lynch back on the horse with a win for Potts'
I'm delighted with that as he's always worked like a nice horse. I thought it was a good run in the four-year-old maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas as there were so many bumper and Flat winners but he was bang amongst them. That was a nice introduction to give him a bit of confidence and we were hoping for improvement and he was good today. He's still babyish and we'll look for a novice hurdle now and see where we go from there. He looks a good horse and a real chaser in the making; he could be exciting . hopefully.
Heskin doubles up at Fairyhouse
Double-jobber Cullen has first Irish winner
that's my first Irish winner and it's been a slow old process!
Champion Jockey wins on Day Dream Boy
he's a good old servant but is no flying machine! He's just tough and I'd love a four-mile for him . that's the sort he is. Davy (Russell) said when Easy Vic came to him he was just slogging away and that he is idle but maybe that's a good thing! Racing takes nothing out of him as he does so little and he might run in the Pertemps Qualifier at Punchestown over three miles. He'll jump a fence after having another one or two runs over hurdles as time is getting on with him.
Miss Mardan wins Fairyhouse finale
she's a good mare and improved a lot from the last day. She could go for the Aintree Bumper but first we'll look for a Winners' Bumper in a fortnight or month's time.
