O'Brien/Townend gain compo in Sligo's second
He is a horse we paid big money for and he had disappointed. We had an unusual operation carried out on his nostrils by Ger Kelly in Fethard and when we brought him back we weren't hoping for a whole lot. However he has progressed from a few placings and we're delighted with the win tonight. He'll have a small break now and then go to Galway maybe where he'd have a couple of options.

McNamara doubles up on McCourt's Girl
I haven't got her very long. She kept galloping, she's not very fast and she is the same at home. Francis Casey (Peter Casey used to train her) said she was the same when they had her. She stays though and she'll get two and a half miles. We'll see now what the handicapper gives her.
Daf toughs it out under Slippers
Mighty winner for Kelly & Fox
We weren't meant to go to the front but he can tank. I put in a new gallop last year and this is my first runner since.
Barry in Favour at Sligo
Nina Carberry rode her the last day and tried to hold her up. She fought and fought that day though and Nina told us to let her roll along next time. She got a wee bit banged up that day (Downpatrick last September) and that's why she hasn't run since. She jumps very well, she was placed in a point-to-point and she'll go hurdling soon. John rode a point-to-point winner for us lately. He is a very good rider, he uses his head and we said we'd use his 7Ib claim on this mare.
