Bella makes breakthrough in style
She was due that. She'd been very unlucky the time before and probably came up against a decent horse the last day. Being left in front didn't help as she's still a baby. She has plenty of ability and will probably be a better chaser. We probably took too long to win with her but we got there in the end and hopefully we'll kick on from this. She may go for something across the water in a couple of weeks and she''ll be better up in trip. I don't think she wants deep winter ground but she'll go on yielding. She'll probably get a break around October time and we'll bring her back in the spring.
Bargain buy Walk grabs third win
I gave him a good shout because the likes of here suits him with the uphill finish. That's his third win and he's only a three thousand pound horse. He'll jump a fence but not for a while as he's still only seven. He doesn't run that often and we give him a bit of time between his races.
Ladiam gains deserved success
She was chinned on the line here two runs ago. I told Paddy to wait as long as he could today and not hit the front too soon. She travelled everywhere and did it very well. She's a grand honest little filly who was bought off Done Deal for small money. She probably wants this trip and would stay three miles. She'll jump a fence too even though she's only 15.2. We'll give her a run or two in novice company while the ground is still there and she'll get a nice break then.
He's on the mark again
Story stays on best to score again for Gibney
He travelled everywhere and jumped very well. Darragh, as per usual, gave him a peach of a ride. The trip was a little bit shorter than when he won at Ballinrobe but that wasn't going to be a problem. He's a lovely straight-forward horse and hasn't put a foot wrong since we got him, bar the first day when I ran him without a tongue-tie. I'm not sure how much improvement he has in him but there's only one way to find out and we'll keep going with him. I thought it looked a very competitive race and I was wondering should I have waited for an easier option, but he did it well and I'm thrilled to get another win with him.
