No problems for Mitchouka
I'd say it wasn't the strongest race in the world but he did it nicely and did all he could do,. He probably came on a good bit from the last day. He was as fit as I could have him but like a lot of ours they come on for the first run. He'll probably have to come back here (Winter Festival Juvenile Hurdle — December 3rd) as there is nowhere else to go.
Jetz makes his experience count
He had a lot of problems with his back last year and he still hung badly left the whole way today,. Maybe he'll take a run or two to get his confidence back. He jumped an awful lot better, jumped really well today, and galloped away well. He'd been working well at home and we've been very happy with him. Like a few of ours, we were afraid he might take the run. He took a blow, filled himself, and stayed going again. He kind of half ran away with me for the first half a mile so it wasn't the plan to make it. There was no point in two of us fighting, he wanted to get on with things and he had the experience. He'll definitely stay three miles and he'll be an awful lot better horse going left-handed.
Chateau starts season nicely
Prep run turns to gold for Witness
He surprised me as I thought he'd need the race. I was aiming for next week really,.
Harrington and Power double up
Hassett back at no. 1 with gambled-on winner
It happens so seldom that it's badly needed. That was nice,. He was second in a point-to-point last year at Belharbour and pulled a muscle in his back. Then we gave him the year and he was green and wasn't 100 percent over that. We let him off for a summers grass and I thought he'd run better than he did at Listowel, I was a bit disappointed with him. He jumped very green and it was his first time in a handicap. Philip (Enright, winning jockey) schooled him in Tipperary for me and he said to put a tongue-tie on him. We brought him to Dromahane two weeks ago with the tongue-tie and he was a different horse. Hopefully we've got the key to him now.
