Mr Diablo another for in-form Dempseys
It was nice to find an opportunity like that. He'd been running well in good novice races and it's great for the owner, Aidan Glynn, to have a winner at his local track,. We'll keep going with him and a bit better ground would help. I was surprised how tacky it is, and he didn't jump as well as he can. He could go for a novice handicap at Punchestown. The horses are running well (3 winners from last 4 runners), and hopefully it will continue.
Geraghty dominant at home meeting
"Ride of week" from "brazen" Ruby
He just missed the cut in the Galway Hurdle last year and hopefully he'll get into it this year!. We have an entry for the Scottish Champion Hurdle and he ran a bit better than I expected today. We didn't enter him for the Yorkshire Cup which closed today but they went such a gallop here that it played into his hands. They went very fast and all just seemed to collapse. I thought it was probably ride of the week. He'd only a few behind him at Ballyhack, and got a lovely run through but he was brazen enough to take it.
3 from 3 at Fairyhouse for Cara's Oscar
That's five years in a row now that he's won first time out, and we have always struggled to get a second run into him. He's got a lot of issues but the ground doesn't seem to make that much difference to him, or the trip,. He won over two miles and five furlongs here last year, and we just thought the longer trip today would give him a chance to get into it. Maybe we should put him away now for the Irish National next year!. Empire Of Dirt is in good form after Cheltenham. He'll have a few entries but he could go for the Topham at Aintree.
To the left to the left and Sydney wins
Ideally he needs to go left-handed, and he was losing lengths at each fence. We may wait and see if we get some rain at Killarney in May. Stratford is another option. He's been a star since he came into our place last September. He's an absolute gent of a horse, and I'd love another few like him.
2 for McManus on final day at Fairyhouse
It was a fine ride by Luke and I'd say he's a nice horse. He's one for next year, and I would have been thrilled if he was third or fourth today,.
