Persia looks good on second outing
Bashiyr battles well up Galway hill
He did it nicely, he is a genuine horse and Chris gave him a good confident ride,. The ground is testing and some of the horses were struggling out there but he battled well. We'll find another race of similar calibre next, maybe over 1m2f. I always say that if a horse wins over a mile on soft ground up the hill at Galway, they will definitely get 1m2f.
Stormy stays going to get up late
She was carrying a lot of weight for a small little filly and I thought the handicapper had her when he put her up. Ben said she was under pressure the whole way but she just keeps at it and is as honest as you can get. A little give in the ground helps her. Her best trip is 1m2f. I was toying with idea of running her in the Lartigue Hurdle last week but she would have been out of the handicap so I decided to drop back in trip for this.
Weld doubles up as Shehreen pounces late
It was a good strong ride from Oisin and she probably found the ground more testing than ideal for her,. I knew Jim's filly was fit and well and was a good filly and our best chance was if we could beat her for a little pace going to the line and that was the plan. Having one go going to the line was the plan. I have a lot of respect for the second filly as it was a decent maiden in Listowel; mine (winner Shekhem) is a nice horse and was very fit and well and the Ballydoyle horse (runner-up Louisiana) was well fancied so I knew Soineanta would be tough to beat today. She will be better on better ground and has more pace than she showed today, she didn't show that pace this evening. She'll run in a Listed race next.
Diamond does the business again at Galway
Jazz dances home on handicap return
We entered her today as I knew we'd get a slap on the wrist for being placed in her maiden, which she did as she got 10lbs so it worked out tonight,. It is no secret she has ability as she was placed for Tom Cooper but she is a very tricky filly to train. We'll give her a bit of a break now as she has been on the go a nice bit and has done her job. We'll see what happens to her after today and hopefully there will be another day in her. I'm delighted as it's over a year since my last winner. I have six horses in training and I'm based in Glenbeigh in Kerry. I'm very grateful for all the owners I have as it's been a quiet summer but they've all stuck by me.
Tooth Fairy bags valuable win
I got a grand lead early and once I stuck into her she found plenty again,. She is valuable having won now and I thought it wasn't a bad performance. She put it to bed well and kept galloping when I got stuck in.
