Hennessy delighted to have famous colours back at the number 1
It was a bit of a surprise to be honest,. The last day he ran in Tramore the ground was horrible and Andrew said he appreciated the good ground today. He's a fine big horse but he just has his days and we caught him on a good day today. I was half thinking of not running because of the ground but in fairness to Andrew he said 'let him take his chance'. I suppose when the rain comes it's going to be difficult to win in this country. We'll put him in a handicap and see what the handicapper gives him. He can't be too hard on him because that was for horses rated 116 or less over hurdles so he's not going to hammer him. Id say we'll put him in a handicap somewhere in the next two weeks before the rain comes because when it comes it will come. That's the first time those colours are in my name in the winner's enclosure. The first of many hopefully. My father died two years last November. I've no Rubi Light or Sublimity anymore because I haven't got the funds he had!. It would be harder to buy them nowadays, it's getting very difficult. The amount of money they are spending is crazy but sure we'll tip away with what we have. I've only a couple in. The licence is up in February and I probably won't renew it. We had great days with my father but now I've no interest in training for anyone else. I might just renew the licence for the couple that I have or else I have Dermot McLoughlin there local to me and he could take over, I'll see.
Terrific Tyner run continues as Gotaway wins under excellent Enright
Youngster Eclair a horse on the improve for Gigginstown and Elliott
Mullins wins with only runner of the day
Brett back on a winner courtesy of Ryan's Father Jed
He got an injury and it took a few runs to get him back,. He'll be a lovely horse over fences, he's a really good jumper. I'm delighted for Tommy Brett, he's with me most mornings and he's a great lad. It's great for him and it's great when everything goes right. He'll go on a little softer than that. He's a nice horse, it probably wasn't the strongest of races and I wouldn't want to get too carried away but he won anyway and I'm not too worried about what's behind him. He's not the quickest in the world but he's not too bad and he'll be better over fences.
Getaway John doubles Elliott and Kennedy's score
If he hadn't run in his two maiden hurdles he would have been favourite on his bumper runs but he was disappointing,. I'd say he just couldn't handle the real heavy ground in Cork. Jack said he was a different horse today, he jumped and travelled and did everything right. I wouldn't say he has to go three miles. I'd say anything between two-and-a-half and three miles is probably what he wants. He seemed to like that ground.
69/1 Fairyhouse treble for Elliott
It's been a good day. This is a big raw horse,. Both horses that we ran in the bumper we said were big babies and the way it suited we'd start them off. He's a grand horse. He's a horse for next year jumping. We might give him a run in a nice hurdle race to give him experience. He's more of a three miler.
