Well-bred Sughera makes the break-through
A result to savour for Rothwell
Our horses have been really healthy for the last few months but we've just had no luck. I fancied her (Ta Blazes) today. She had good maiden hurdle and bumper form. She got hurt at Bellewstown and then got left at the start at Downpatrick after that. John Lecky from the North owns her and this is the only day he has missed seeing her run. He bred her as well but he is playing golf today. As regards Mount Welcome, we put the tongue-tie on him again today but I was surprised to see him where he was. It's a great result and I'm delighted.
Toes does another turn for the Faheys
Mark said she handled the ground quite well as we were a bit worried about it beforehand. We were going to let her off but she could go for the mares hurdle at Down Royal (the Grade 3 novice hurdle) early next month now. We'd hope that she could scrape into a place there as that would mean a lot to the family.
Doyle continues his blistering run
He's a very free front-runner. Before he never got home on anything softer than good. He ran on quite firm ground here in June and then he didn't let himself down on it at Galway last time (the end of July). So we decided to let him off for a while after that and it has worked. In fairness he's not as free as he used to be.
Ordinary Man takes to fences straight away
You'd have to be happy with that for his first chase run. We thought he'd run well (14s into 8s) at Tipperary on Sunday where he was a bit disappointing. They went no gallop there though and he was caught a bit flat-footed.
Another for Shernaz at Tramore
He's a horse that has had his problems. I'm delighted for the owner who has been extremely patient with him. We were a bit anxious about the ground as he seems to be better when it is quicker than today. To be fair though that's perfect ground out there.
Vodka a shot for O'Sullivan's training career
He's a nice little horse that works well at home. I only have him for a couple of months and he'll go for a winners bumper if he's not sold in the meantime. I only got my licence in April and I've had a couple of point-to-point winners. I'm based in Clonakilty and I took over Thomas O'Leary's yard. I've ten in, mainly pointers, though I have three for the track.
