Pine powers to easy win in opener
It was a suitable race for him and hopefully we'll find something for him at Christmas for him. We had no plan really and wanted to see what happened today. He will now probably go chasing as he is a big horse but we'll let him get over today first. His owners are from Dungarvan and the win keeps everyone happy.

Costalita gets off the mark for Rothwell
She is a homebred filly and the dam (Vinnes Friend) was good to me and won twice and we liked her. She is from a very good family and is the first foal from the mare. John Dillon approached me, through another owner and his friend Oliver Barden, to get involved in a horse and I said this would be a fun filly. She is of average ability but is after winning a handicap nicely so hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on her and hopefully she will get another day.
Batcio cosy winner for Walsh
There might be horses in behind him that might never win a race but he jumped well, travelled well and won like a odds-on shot in a very weak race,. There were a lot horses not fancied, some weren't great, unless he fell himself. Ian gave him a lovely ride and rode him with loads of confidence. Ian has his own place now and I meet him on the Curragh if I'm stuck and he is a lovely fella. He rode Any Second Now when he won his first race and he is a most obliging fella. This is basically Aubrey (McMahon's) horse but he is out of action with a knee injury and he hasn't ridden over fences, but if he goes back over hurdles Aubrey will ride him and could ride him over fences at some stage. He'll go to Limerick for a handicap chase next.
