Theatre flies in for Cooper and Doyle
We've always thought an awful lot of her but we shouldn't have run her the last day in a bumper at Limerick as the ground was too soft for her. She jumped and travelled and Bryan gave her a super ride. She'll have a little break now and is one to look forward to for the summer. She'd be a lovely mare for Galway. She won her point-to-point well and will jump a fence in time.
Blinkers does the trick for Kyle
I thought he was very good when he won his point-to-point at our home place in Templemore. But he didn't want to know when he went up to better class and he was lairy enough. The blinkers helped him to concentrate and the drop down in class was also a help. He'll be way better over fences.
Timmons back in the groove on Cat
I was with Eddie Lynam for the summer riding work and finished up there a few weeks ago. Gary Cribbin is booking my rides now and I'll ride for whoever I can. Chris is riding out with me but I couldn't get my head around the fact that he was still claiming 7lb. He's only one more winner left before his claim is reduced. He schooled him the other day and knowing a horse is almost worth another 7lb. I've schooled him myself over fences and he jumps like a cat. I view him as a chaser.
Two out means trouble at Clonmel!
We were due it. He met some nice horses on his last few runs and luck was on our side today. In fairness the other fellow wasn't running away either and they are there to be jumped. The handicapper hasn't been too good to us and this fellow is rated 127. It's very hard to know where to go and he's lacking six or seven lengths to be a really decent horse. We are struggling out in the middle of a river and which ditch to go for is hard to know!
Cash times it to perfection on Luck
He wants nice ground and that's why his form had been so bad. We'll tip away at something similar.
Herself hits the net on chase debut
She did it nicely and small fields are a big help as she settled well enough today. The lad who looks after her and rides her out, Michael Kelly, did a great job in the last three weeks to get her settled. We'll see what the handicapper does with her now.
Hot-pot floored in finale
The blinkers helped and he'll go for a winners' race at Limerick over Christmas. The sooner he goes over fences the better and you couldn't make enough use of him.
