Poet prevails in Punchestown opener
He’s a horse that we always thought would need a trip and he handles the ground. He had the experience from his few runs over fences and he was fit. I don’t like seeing horses getting beaten three or four times in a row. It’s nice to get their head in front and it can change their whole approach to things. He’s not a Grade 1 horse so we may look at novice handicaps in the spring over an extended trip.
Mullins bags another winner with Roses
He’s owned by the singer Paddy Reilly and his son Ciaran. He’s improving and is a real old fashioned staying chaser. Extended trips are what he likes and he jumps for fun. He’ll probably come back here for the Grand National Trial. I’m delighted to give Brian a winner. He’s an integral part of our yard for schooling and riding work.

Brace for Mullins & Townend as Bachasson wins easily
I was hoping he’d jump a bit better but Paul said he was just idle out in front on his own.

The run in Tramore did her the world of good. She will go back hurdling and will be a nice mare over a trip in the spring.
