Progressive Marvada wins opener
there was always a little risk coming back so quick after her Curragh run but she is definitely happier on faster ground. We will give her a break of maybe three weeks now and she may go for a Listed or Group 3 next and try to get black-type over further. A stronger pace would have suited her better today as she stays a mile. She ‘went in her coat' in mid-September last year will be finished before then this year.

Another Star emerges from Ballydoyle
Copper gets the gold
he did it well and has seen out the seven furlongs better than I thought.
Princess gets off the mark
it's great to get a winner at Leopardstown and Newlands Princess is an improving mare and Leigh (Roche, winning rider) gave her a very good ride. in fairness to Niall McCullagh (her previous rider), he always minds the horses he rides and looked after her the last day when it didn't happen for her. We decided to take 5lbs off her back today and I'm delighted both for her and for myself as I own half!. Today was the plan . we were gearing towards the bigger tracks for her and she is for sale. She is a half-sister to the leading money earner in Saudi Arabia so hopefully we should be able to sell her.
Cleary Recovery continues
Global Recovery may go to the July Sales now. I originally wanted to buy his dam and she was in foal to him when I bought her. I'm glad we got one win attempt out of him at the last attempt as he was crying out for a trip.
Freedom takes Leopardstown finale
all the hard work was done by Gordon (Elliott, previous trainer) as I only have him about six weeks. All I had to do was get him fit and bring him here!. He was very good and it was lovely of his owners to let Kate ride, I appreciate that. I said to her afterwards that she wouldn't get many easier winners!. Steps To Freedom could stay on the flat now as he has a bit of class. We'll see what the handicapper does but he jumps really well too.
