Boher Cailin makes all on hurdles debut
I'm delighted with her and Ian Power (handler) has done nearly all the work with her. She won her point-to-point well, she has won that well and she is a nice mare. Martin (Keating, owner) wants to sell her and she couldn't do any more than she did there and is a lovely mare. She'll improve plenty for the run, it was super by Rachael and I'm delighted to get it for Martin.
Irascible leads home 1-2 for de Bromhead but odds-on backers will be cross
They are two nice horses and the winner has always worked like a nice horse. I thought he'd need the run for experience but he picked up really well. He was just about ready to run in a bumper when we went into lockdown but he is a great jumper and I'm delighted with that. Decimation is a very nice as well and I don't think he did a whole lot wrong to be fair.
Sadies Trix wins on handicap bow for Fahey and Sexton
Yaiza contributes again to Burke's healthy seasonal tally
He is every trainer's dream as he is hardly 16 hands but has some heart. I thought the ground would be totally against him but that has opened up options as it was his first run at three miles. Tramore was his track but he (Darragh O’Keeffe) was happy with him today and the ground was deeper than he'd like it. He'll get a break when he runs bad and is one of those horses who is not happy when he is outside; we left him off last year and it took ages to get him back again. He didn't go into training until he was five and previously had two 'legs' - both of them went one year after the other. He won his only run over fences and will go back chasing soon.
Second winner this week for Simon Cavanagh as father's horse wins gamely
The last day we took the cheek-pieces off at Galway and he ran a bit free and the ground was a bit too good too and he likes a bit of juice. He is a fine big horse and we'll try and get another hurdle win out of him before going chasing. Simon (Cavanagh) gave him a good intelligent ride and waited. He was with us for a year when he finished school years ago and is a great lad to work and ride. That's his first hurdle winner and his father Richard owns and bred the horse.
Western Victory back to winning ways
She is a decent animal and it is unfortunate what happened at Listowel and it was one of those things. She is a six-time (including one point-to-point) and Listed winner now and is plenty valuable. We'll try and find as easy a contest as possible and try to get as many days out of her as possible. She is a fair one.
