Park Paddocks does his bit for Elliott
He's improved an awful lot. I'm not sure how much improvement there's left in him but he's definitely after improving from his first couple of runs. Jack gave him a good ride, and he jumped well. He'll probably go chasing over the summer and use the four-year-old allowance. He's a horse that might even go back to the Flat at some stage.
Mullins on Pigsback with 1st and 3rd
He was a horse coming in here with limited experience but when you have limited experience you're also unexposed,. I said to the owners going out that I thought he had a good chance. His novice form was good and it's been a good year overall. I missed a little bit of time with injury but to be a part of the Willie Mullins team at Punchestown - sure what can I say - it's what dreams are made of. To get on the scoreboard is great. We went a good gallop. This fella was keen over the first few to get on with it. I was quite happy down the back when the lads went on about it. I was able to tuck in behind them. His jumping brought him there probably a bit sooner than I wanted but I travelled well to the second last. Once I was over that I let him gallop to the last - I got in a little tight to it - but he was very clever for a novice - and he ran away an easy winner - fantastic.
La Touche win tinged with sadness for McManus and Bolger
It was close and hard luck on Nina but both horses ran their hearts out. Auvergnat was our fancy because he'd run at Cheltenham, and he's only eight and an up and coming horse. I must say he got a great ride from Donie as well,.
Champion Hurdler Faugheen now a Champion Stayer
I can't really describe it (the feeling). I got to ride him as a bumper horse - even when they knew he was special - just out at home and the whole place was like God you're allowed to ride Faugheen and you're only 16 and all this sort of stuff. To actually get the spin on him and for him to show up in that sort of form - John (Codd) and the team at home - they had him in tip-top shape. I didn't think there'd be a lot of pace today so I said I'd go on even over the three miles - it's a hard thing to do to be in front for that long but he loved every second of it. He travelled down the hill and I had to let him rock as I didn't want to be fighting with him. The bit of ease in the ground probably helped as well. Faugheen for me, and I've not been racing that long, is the best horse I've ever seen on his day. It just took three miles and a bit of give in the ground for him to show it. It felt like I was doing a hack canter the whole way around - it's unbelievable.
A Great View gives Cullen and Walsh a big win
He's tough and he stuck it out. He is workmanlike but the more you ask the more he gives. It's great to get some compensation as we were chinned at Christmas and unlucky two out at Cheltenham,.
Footpad just gets better and better
More Punchestown joy for Blackmore
Fahy lands a 2nd Punchestown 2018 festival bumper
He nearly died at one stage when he got an infection in his leg and he reacted badly to it. Natalie (wife) used to spend hours putting bags of fluid into him. He became a real pet and only for her I'd say he wouldn't be alive,.
