Little Haarth appreciates step up in trip
It was a good decision not to go to Ballinrobe now (taken out due to the ground) and being upped in trip suited him. He was particularly good from the second last and will go further. He jumps the other(conventional) hurdles better as a good hurdler flicks the top of them - he's a clever horse. We'll play it nice and gently and he'll jump a fence in time as he is a well made, strong horse.
Tea demoted as Duckweed is awarded race
Outsider benefits from change of routine
he was only beaten five lengths the last day and he was on the brink! . He had been disappointing but his work has clicked since I changed his routine and trained him out of a field 24/7. He is a super leaper and I can't wait to send him over fences. He'll have one more hurdle run and will then go chasing - he is built to jump.
Galway Hurdle next up for The Game Changer
I was humming and hawing this morning on whether to run him or not but that was great and he likes being ridden like that. It was a nice race to win and he'll run in the Galway Hurdle next.
Grand purchase wins third race
she has always been a nice good filly and has now finished in the prizemoney in 20 of her 33 starts. I bought her for a grand and if it'd be nice if I could get them all like her!. She couldn't handle the bends at Killarney the last day. I wouldn't rule out running her on the flat but she'll probably go for a winners bumper next and work on from there. She loves that ground.
O'Connor drive gets Na Trachtalai up
He has to be dropped in and things didn't work out at Roscommon when he raced with the pace and did too much. Derek played away with him and said he's a horse that if you fight him, he'll fight you. The hood (wore it before) helped keep the lid on him today and he needs that trip. He jumps fences like a buck and will make a nice good ground chaser next year. We'll have a look at the handicap hurdle at Galway next Sunday.
Escape justifies market support
She was very professional and Colin Bowe had done a great job teaching her before we got her. She's not the biggest and while I wouldn't fancy riding her over fences on heavy ground, she does jump and good ground is the makings of her.
