Persian picks up late to land opener
Kevin likes him but said for a horse on his third run he’s incredibly green. He is a bit of a baby, and we came here because of the great prizemoney,. I think he’s going to be a smart horse. He’s going to be a miler but he’s going to have to grow up. He was all over the place the first day at the Curragh, and then at Fairyhouse when he was asked to quicken he just didn’t know what to do.
Manning doubles up on newcomer Theobald
He’s a potentially smart colt and will come on a nice bit for the run,. He’s a lazy horse like Verbal Dexterity, and we brought both of them to Beechy Park for a few gallops although they didn’t work together.
'Work in progress' Xenobia off the mark
She had a lovely run the first day and just blew up the last day at Naas. I was slightly worried about the trip and the ground,. The credit should really go to my son Samuel who does all the work with her. The penny is starting to drop, and she will make a lovely filly at the back-end of the year.
Jet Streaming leaves them in her trail
She’s straight forward and has a touch of class. The more time she gets the better she’ll get,. It wasn’t easy for her to step into handicap company today but she was on a nice enough mark to think she could do it. I have big plans for her but whether it will be this year or not I don’t know. She was on her toes before the race and was green enough but a trip will suit her in time. We will gradually step her up from a mile to a mile and a half. She has a couple of good entries but whether we step her up to that straight away or not I’m not sure.
Direction gives Manning a treble
He’s in good shape at the minute and is entered again (at Down Royal on Saturday),.
Clarinet hits the right note
She deserved that, although she idled a bit in front.
Hoban shines as Bob shocks
I thought the ground might me a bit quick for him coming up here but it’s beautiful ground,. He’s got bits and pieces of form, and as a three-year-old here he was only beaten about a length over 1m5f. Things haven’t fallen right for him, and we’ve run him over an inadequate trip a few times. The ground was right, the trip was right and the ride was right.
