Ready To Rocknroll Just About
He made hard work of it. He'll get an entry for the Triumph Hurdle but I have to say he didn't impress me as a Triumph horse today. He came on quite a bit from his run at Leopardstown but Paddy said he didn't like being in front and he'd like a bit better ground. His jumping is not up to grade one or grade two standard at the moment. It is possible he could run at Leopardstown next month as he needs more experience.
Alpha Ridge Beats the Big Boys
I didn't like him in Navan, he was a bit flat. We brought him back nice and fresh for this which I thought might have been a bit too good a race for him but there seemed to be no real excuses. He went a nice consistent gallop on terrible ground and he'll go now for the Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham all being well.
An Cathaoir Mor Powers Home
He deserved to win one, we always thought he was a decent horse. He ran well at Naas on Saturday (third behind Cousin Vinny) and the handicapper put him up four pounds, so we decided to come here and have a go. He is a bull of a horse and he takes a savage amount of work. He is an out and out chaser and we're looking forward to next year.
Dream Day for O'Leary at Gowran
I was hoping more than anything else. We've always had it in mind to come back for this race. I own the horse in partnership with John O'Donohue and he said after winning it last year that he wanted to win it three times so he could keep the trophy. The plan is to go for the Aintree National with one run beforehand but he needs soft ground.
He'll mix it between chasing and hurdling. I didn't think he'd go on that ground but he is as honest as they make them. He broke his pelvis a few years ago and has won four for us now. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him. (EM)
Cadspeed Sends Many Home Happy
Patrick was adamant that he wanted to ride him for speed. His first two runs I'd ignore as we had him for two years and he was backward and had little problems. He'll go to Cheltenham. Both of his wins have been on very testing ground. He shows plenty of speed at home and hopefully he'll go on better ground.
