Ballyshannon Rose impresses on chasing bow
She improved from early last year,. Everyone was saying she wanted heavy ground but the reason she was winning on it last year was because there was only heavy ground. It wasn't that she wants heavy ground but she's able to go through it. When she meets those mares on heavy ground she'll be even better. The plan wasn't to make as much use of her but she was fresh and free this year and she dragged him there so what could he do only go with her. The mares novice chase programme is a good one but some of them might be too short. There is the Florida Pearl in Punchestown, over two-miles-six, and then hopefully the three-mile at Christmas. We think we'll be able to step her up in grade with the way she was able to do it there today. She was good there, Donie popped her at the Curragh last Saturday and she jumped well for him. We were debating about running on the ground but we walked it and it looked safe so we said we'd take our chance. She's a very exciting mare and we're looking forward to going places with her.
Bellgrove game as ever at age of 13
Lighthouse Lady gets her turn
She runs a bit in and out but she has loads of ability. It was just about getting that bit of luck with her and she seemed to enjoy it in front today. She's been placed several times on the Flat, she's tough and she's easy to train. It's just about getting her on the right day and I knew there was a race in her and there is probably another one in her. At least she's won now so it's great.
Kelly has plenty to say after Thurles winner
It was a long journey, I was up at 6.30 this morning,. He's a game wee buck, I thought the ground was maybe going to be a bit too soft for him but he got away with it alright. He ran very well the last day in Gowran and probably improved a bit from that. There wasn't much depth in the race today, bar the favourite. He deserved to be thereabouts and was a good each-way bet. I don't think he's really a horse for Dundalk and we might try and get another run into him over hurdles and then come back again next summer. He could have gone across water but they can't run in the class 5s over there, it's absolutely disgraceful. I had one horse at Hexham the last day and they wouldn't let me run anything else at it, I could have run six at the meeting. I'd be over in Hexham quicker than I get here and he'd get into a class 5 over there no problem. They hate to see us going over there to get the prize-money. The authorities here should be under more pressure to get us across. I'd be in Ayr in two hours from my house. Covid is only an excuse to keep us away from the prize-money and I've been told that by people over there. Sure we've gone over there plenty of days and been beat, that's racing and that's the name of the game. It's disgraceful, why are they letting the bigger yards go over and not the small boys. We have to look after our owners as well and it's not easy to get a run here in Ireland whereas at least you can plan out something for a horse in Britain as you are sure to get i

Influential Lady gaining more followers
She came out of the last race well and she stays, so the two-mile-seven worked well. She's thriving on it, thank-God, and I'm lucky to have her. She's handled Navan on winter ground so I think she'll go on softer as well.
In-form O'Sullivan strikes again in bumper
Fair play to Mikey he gave her a great ride. I've watched him riding a couple of times lately and thought 'this chap knows what he's doing' and he did exactly as he was told. He gave her a lovely ride. It's job done as she's a three-parts sister to Champagne Fever and I want her as a broodmare as that's my game. She finished second first time out and then things went wrong but she's back to where we always thought she should be. It's not a surprise because she's always worked savage. She has schooled over hurdles and was actually in the maiden hurdle today as well but we took her out of it because we felt the way she was working that she was entitled to one more run in a bumper. If the ground goes she'll go and we may wait until it dries up again. Hopefully we'll get another couple of weeks as I love to give her one run in a maiden hurdle before it gets soft.
