Leblon is The Real Article
I've not been that happy with her since she finished second in the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel last September. She's possibly not suited by winter ground but she's back to herself now. She'll go for the Grade 3 mares hurdle at Punchestown that she was second in last year. She could go for a winners-of-two at Sligo after that.
Affair benefits from Smullen's advice
Pat said she was in front too long at Leopardstown the last day, so the plan was to get a lead. I was a bit apprehensive about running on this tight track with such a big mare but you have to go where the races are. She could go for the Grade 3 mares hurdle at Punchestown, although that may be a bit too hot for her and she could go for a winners-of-one instead.
Landmark winner for Curling
That's my first winner on the track. I got the licence about four months ago and have just had a handful of runners. I do a bit of pre-training for the owners (Galway-based Maroon Tribes Syndiacte), and they felt he would benefit from a change of scenery. He came on a lot from the run at Limerick earlier this month, and I fancied him today. He could go for a handicap hurdle next.
Domination for a second time at Clonmel
He was entitled to win on form. We won't aim too high but keep tipping away and mix it between the Flat and hurdles for the summer. I'll probably find a winners-of-one for him next.
Twin joy for O'Brien
Today was the plan. The ground was too soft at Wexford the last day. He needs good ground and won a point-to-point at Dawstown around this time last year. He'll go to Killarney next.
Dream double for title chasing Russell
Today was the day, and we stepped him up in trip to see if he would stay.
