Oxx filly proves too strong
I though she might be very green as she hadn't seen any grass gallops due to the recent dry spell. However, Invincible Spirit's offspring don't need much training and she showed a nice turn of foot, and plenty of speed. We'll look for a Listed race over six furlongs next and while there is one at The Curragh next Friday, it might come a bit too quick for her. She has a mix of speed and stamina in her pedigree and is sure to go seven furlongs.
Thats the Spirit!
Murtagh makes hay at Leopardstown
Creekside looked like he was hanging left first of all but when Johnny hit him, he went right . he takes a bit of steering. I was sure we had too much weight beforehand and while he's lazy, he has an engine. We'll see what rating he gets after this but I'd say we'll be kicked out of handicaps now! Eight or nine furlongs is his trip and we may go for something better now.
Barack - yes he can!
that was the plan!. Barack is only a pony but is a game little fella! He's rated 103 and even if he finished second in those races, its better than winning an ordinary race. He's better running in similar races instead of in handicaps from a mark of 105/6 . we'll keep him on the go and try to get a few quid with him!
Lady Leopardstown scores again
the young lad (Sam James) was very good on Strandfield Lady and timed his run very well. We'll have to come back here again with her (her sixth career win and her fifth at Leopardstown) if I can find another race for her . she enjoys this good ground.
Lynam gets lucky
I though Duff had won but it wasn't to be. Spin Of A Coin, however, deserved a win having been raised 8lbs for three placed efforts. He's entered in a few races next week and will probably run.
Tornado sweeps Leopardstown
this race has been the plan with Tornado Shay for a little bit and we will now aim him at both the Amateur Handicap and Galway Hurdle at the Galway Festival. He likes Leopardstown and is better on this ground. He's a fair tool and has won around Galway before so handles that track.
