Laurina cruises home on Irish debut
Flyer gets Carey back in winners enclosure
He lost a shoe before the race and we were nearly withdrawing him. I got a farrier at the track and it's turned out to be a lucky shoe!. He's a real chaser and we said we might sneak a hurdle with him. He nearly fell at the first and then he jumped the height of the shed over the second. I told Andrew to just creep away and see what happens. He stays further and I'm delighted with him.
Beauty gives Townend Tramore double
She won her point-to-point and got very tired after making the running in a bumper at Naas. Paul said the ground was very testing and that he'd take his time on her. He gave her a lovely ride as she settled well and jumped great. She's 17 hands and is a chasing mare. She obviously goes on that ground, and I'm delighted with that.
Poker comes up trumps again
Cross strikes again at Tramore
I was delighted with the way he jumped because we ran him in Downpatrick and he was a bit novicey,. You would wonder any horse that could win here in August would he handle that ground. His jumping won it for him and he travelled well. We will probably look for something here on New Years Day as he likes it here. He could run over hurdles or fences. The key is that he likes to be fresh. If you run him close together he just doesn't take it for some reason, so we'll freshen him up and bring him back.
Cadawill springs shock and surprises Sweeney
He surprised me a bit. He's a grand auld devil of a horse. He jumped and enjoyed it in front. We'll see how he comes out of this before deciding where we go next but he always keeps a bit for himself.
Kildorrery swoops wide in bumper
He's a daft horse but he has ability. Ruby rode him in Clonmel and he galloped up on something in front of him and turned over. Then he was going to run at Thurles and he got down in the box and I had to withdraw him, and last time Ian McCarthy rode him and something whipped the legs out from underneath him at the first hurdle. He's like his old mother (Killeen Castle) but if he ever settles down he's not a bad horse. He was fourth in a point-to-point (at Oldtown) that has worked out very well.
