Heffernan impressed by latest Camelot winner
she should have won at the Curragh. It was a typical Irish race, they were all boxed watching one another. I just let her jump and stride along today. I'm not sure how good a race it was but she's way better than average. I'd say she's better than September (won her maiden here last year and subsequently won at Royal Ascot and Group 1 placed).
Davis clocks in with first win on Signing Off
that was the coolest ride of the year! Daire is with me about a year, and hopefully he can go on from here. This horse is well entered up (Killarney on Sunday and Leopardstown next Thursday) and hopefully he can carry a penalty.
Murtagh has the power at Leopardstown
I think the mile and a quarter at the Curragh just stretched his stamina the last day and we made a bit too much use of him. Today over a mile was great. He thought he was going to have to make the running but when Kevin (Manning, on Theobald) went on it gave him a nice pace. A strong run mile looks like it suits him and he is learning. He’s a bit of a baby and he’s still not just with it yet so hopefully it will all click into gear with him. He’s bred to be a nice horse and he always worked like a half decent horse. Hopefully he can keep progressing up through the handicap ranks. You don’t mind them going up when they are winning but it’s when they are getting beaten and still going up. Hopefully he can make up into a Premier Handicap horse.

Bolger and Manning combine for first Group win of the year
her last run was a good one and the form is working out. She has won on heavy ground before so is versatile. She’s in the (Yorkshire) Oaks so we’ll have to think about that. She will probably stay two miles which would open up more possibilities. I usually leave it until the end of the year before deciding on whether a filly will stay in training but at this stage I would say it is probably 50/50.

Maria O'Grady remembered following Leopardstown's last
the late Maria, my lovely wife, had just put that syndicate together virtually days before her tragic accident. It's very poignant and I'm really thrilled that the horse has won for all the kind people who went into her syndicate.
