Thirteenth time lucky for Tom
He has been an unlucky horse. It took him a while to settle in his races and he was boiling over a bit at the start of the season. We can ride him up with the bunch now. That will do him now and we will bring him back to go chasing next year.
Culloty's Cry scores under Doyle
Before coming here I thought it would be softer than he would like but I was delighted today to find it drier than I had expected. I fancied him to win but was I just a bit worried about the ground. I knew on flat form he was very well handicapped. He jumped great today, for the first time and we done a lot of work with him at home. He matured since his last run as well. We will see what the handicapper does with him now but I have a 2m 4f race at Ascot pencilled in for him. He will mix it over the summer and we will try and win a few more races with him.
Tannery springs surprise in Victor McCalmont
I'd say the 3yo weight allowance was a big help. It looked like they went a good gallop. Her form isn't great but she always showed a bit at home. She's a big girl and is starting to strengthen up now. There are loads of fillies stakes races for her now and she could stay up to a mile and a half. Hopefully she will keep improving and we will have a bit of fun with her.
Caponata impresses on debut
She did it nicely and she has a future. She won it very easy but the ground was testing and it may just have flattered her. A lot of them didn't handle the ground. She is a lovely big mare and we are taking our time with her. I expect patience to payoff.
Huzzar outguns Lindley at Gowran
He is a bit fragile really. He was lame for about a week after the Curragh and he takes a bit of managing. He needs soft ground and is better going seven furlong or a mile. It's very much a day to day thing with him.
Oh Happy Days for Wachman as he doubles up
That was great. Billy gave her a great ride. He gave her a chance and just crept and crept. We will run her in another similar handicap now. There wasn't much between four or five of them there. My horses are running well at the moment.
Melanjo takes the last for Morrissey & Lavery
She's a grand mare and I was hoping she would run well but I didn't expect her to win. I thought the ground might be a bit soft for her. She is a nice staying prospect and will go hurdling in the autumn.
