El Barra puts it all together at Fairyhouse
Fenton and Walsh team up with Stand Off
He’s a big horse and probably a chaser in the making. This is a bit of practice for him. He doesn’t give up too easy so I was confident going to the last that he would pull it out. Mark had said a while back on better ground there would be big improvement in this horse. He seems to manage that nicer ground.
Rain has Easter Sunday go from strength to strength for Mullins team
She is learning the whole time and settling a bit better. I was kind of anxious to get a bit of cover and I was probably a place further back than I wanted to be. I was happy to sacrifice that to try and get her to settle. Every time I got a bit of light she got a bit keen with me. I was happy she wasn’t doing too much though and that’s the way she is. She wears her heart on her sleeve. When I got the gap at the back of the second last she has gone through it — probably too quick for the length of the straight here but it worked out well and she was doing it nicely. She’s got plenty of talent but she just needs to settle. She’s settling and learning all the time. We didn’t want to bring her to Cheltenham as she might boil over with the travelling. She’s improving all the time and will go to Punchestown now. In better races you can settle her in behind whereas in maiden races there wouldn’t be as much pace. The better ground was a huge factor and she showed a lovely turn of foot. It’s great to get a few quid off Paddy Kehoe (sponsor). He owned my first official winner.
Hanlon records landmark Grade 1 win with Skyace
She’s as tough as nails. She came home out of Cheltenham better than she was before she left. I was afraid of the ones that hadn’t run in Cheltenham rather than the ones that did. It’s great to have one like her. Everyone wants to have one Grade 1 winner and for me it’s great. I think it’s great for racing as anyone can see now that you can buy a horse cheaply, get a syndicate together and have some fun. The owners are two lads from Dublin, a lad from Wexford and the rest are all from Dubai. There is 100 sitting down today in Dubai for a meal and I’m sure there will be great excitement. I thought that she couldn’t get beat. I knew she came home out of Cheltenham very well.

Grade One Fairyhouse brace for McGarvey
I just hope the ground doesn’t dry out too much, but other than that I’m looking forward to riding him. I felt he deserved his chance to come here as he didn’t go to Cheltenham but I thought it would be tough for him with the horses he was up against. He likes this track and won a big handicap hurdle here. It’s great for Jody to ride a Grade 1 double and I’m delighted for all connections. He’s a horse we always thought a bit of but has disappointed a bit on his last few runs. Jody felt that when he got him jumping today that he was in his comfort zone from after halfway. I’d be keen to go to Punchestown, although I don’t think we’ll be going for the novice handicap with him!. Asterion Forlonge’s jumping is improving but I was disappointed that he cut out so tamely. He cut out a lot of the running and maybe we made too much use of him.
Dark Raven a 5th Easter Sunday winner for Willie Mullins team
He surprised us in Leopardstown to do what he did and today he confirmed that wasn’t a fluke,.
