Cowboy gets up close home for Mullins & Foley
Shane thought the ground was as heavy as he would want it but I thought he wanted that ground. We are learning more as to how to ride him. He kept arriving but found very little. He just comes with one run now. Shane seems to get on very well with him as he does with all horses he rides and we will try and find a similar race for him now.
Double for Foley as Ciara catches Swerve
Her toughest and honesty got her through. I was worried about the ground but she got through it. She is better on better ground. She is in foal to Rip Van Winkle and can race until September.
Berry doubles up aboard Stocktons
Versatile Economy overturns Graduate
He is a dream to train. He is so versatile and his last three runs having now come on the flat, over hurdles and over fences. I said to the owners (Mrs Miriam Murphy) earlier that they are so lucky to have him. Obviously Notable Graduate didn't travel and hopefully the handicapper won't put him up thirty pounds after that!. He loves quick ground and a good gallop and he might go to Royal Ascot now for the staying handicap over two and a half miles (The Ascot Stakes). They just hack in that race and then sprint. I ran Dorans Pride in it before and Jamie Spencer rode him. He should have won it but got knocked and locked in at different stages. He ran three days later and finished third in a conditions race there.
Ding wins to complete quick double for Hourigan
He had a good run at Killarney last time out and he was in here off near bottom weight today. He will go for another handicap next and the better the ground the better he is. He should develop into a nice horse.
Duffy getting the best out of Dooney
He is a nice horse and was unlucky to come up against Oliver Brady's horse (One Cool Shabra) at Clonmel. It was an ordinary contest but a win is a win and we will tip away with him now. A step up in trip would do him no harm.
First winner for Buttimer as Knock takes the last
That is my first track winner. I have five in training but just one for the track at the moment. I have my license seven years and it's hard to get a good one. I've had a few point-to-point winners in the past.
