Smullen edges O'Brien in 1st at the Curragh
She battled well and done it nicely. She had a very good run and she'd been working very well. I thought she'd take a bit of beating today. I'd say the first two are smart fillies. Our filly is a nice staying type and should make up into a nice three-year-old.
Regal performance by Viztoria in Blenheim
I got a phone call to train her and only have her a few months. It's tough on Ado (McGuinness) as he did a good job and deserves most of the credit. I was told she was a bit special when I got her which puts you on a hiding to nothing as you can only mess things up. She's very professional and Johnny was very impressed. She will have one more run this year in a Group 2 at Maisons-Laffitte. It will be soft there!
Another big win for Bubbly
The plan is to go for a heritage handicap at Ascot next week.
Dream result for the O'Briens in Weld race
She is a grand filly who is improving and ran well the last day in the Moyglare. She is a filly that will stay further. She travelled well and quickened up well today. She is in the Prix Marcel Boussac, so we will see about that. She's a hardy lady.
No problem for Battle Of Marengo
You'd have to be delighted with that especially considering Joseph said he hated the ground. He'd be a possible for the race in Doncaster (the Racing Post Trophy) although he's done plenty this year and he doesn't need to run again.
Keane gets Sky to settle
He's always shown plenty of ability but it has been difficult to get him to settle. He stood in the gate today which wasn't the plan but he settled grand. He will go back hurdling soon and will mix it a bit.
Jack makes it 3 at the Curragh
He's so tough and genuine and such a likeable horse. It's amazing really that he should start to improve after about five races. Ronan said he only just got away with the six furlongs today as he is really a seven furlong or a mile horse. I've said all along that the Birdcatcher was the main target but we may have to re-access that now as he really does need a longer trip
O'Brien back level after Curragh treble
He might go to Dundalk on Friday for the Diamond Stakes. That wouldn't be his ground out there and he's a big powerful horse. (AM & EM)
