Melon new Supreme Novice favourite
He just went a bit long at the last and genuflected a little bit. He’d been showing me he’s a good horse for a long while. He did a nice gallop in the autumn and I was afraid to do any more with him. We just waited and waited until he came right, and he’s right now at the right time. He lacks a bit of experience for his next run but we’ll have to try and give him that at home. It will possibly be in the first race (at Cheltenham) in March. We have plenty of experience into him, and I thought for a horse having his first run he jumped very well except for the last. He’s improving all the time as he gets fitter and stronger. I thought he looked very well today. Broken Soul made sure there was no hiding place for any horse, and even at that good gallop Ruby looked under pressure to hold him. Once he’s upped in grade they will be going a step faster, and he will be easier ridden at that stage.
Some Plan takes a dramatic Arkle
He was a 145 over hurdles and is now 3 from 4 over fences and a Garde 1 winner so you can't fault him. I'd say he will go for the Arkle now at Cheltenham. He's entitled to go now, and Roger loves to have runners at Cheltenham. It's been a great week for the Brookhouses. He fell at the second last in Cheltenham when going well so things have turned around our way today. It was disappointing that Identity Thief went at the first. He's generally a brilliant jumper and it was just a silly mistake. Hopefully we will get him back on track in the coming weeks.

Debuchet impressive in 4yo bumper
I think he came on from the last day. He’s a smart horse and jumps well. Fingers crossed everything stays right with him. I don’t know where we’ll go but we’ll see how he is after this. He’s a nice horse to look forward to for next year. He jumps really well and has gone around in two schooling hurdles. I’m charmed with him, and Patrick was very good on him. The syndicate are a great bunch of lads. There are a lot of them in it and they are from Dublin, Mayo and all around. We’ll wait and see how he comes out of this before deciding about Cheltenham. We’ll think about it. He’s so laid-back and unassuming that I wouldn’t worry about travelling with him. He was beautiful to watch there and has a great temperament.
