Cavite Beta toughs it out in Galway
My daughter keeps giving out to me for downplaying him, but I'm just telling the truth and that's not fashionable now!. That's as good as he is. He's a good ground horse who'll have the winter off. We'll keep him going as long as the ground is okay.
Veteran Valours Minion on the upgrade
My brother Sean bought him as a yearling. He seems to have come to hand recently. He has been placed previously before this year. He has come to form and he seems to have improved at 11.
Swan's horse 'apologises' with belated win
I don't know what happened him the last day but today's race wasn't great. I imagine he'll go chasing soon but might have another run over hurdles. I'm delighted for Philip (Reynolds, owner) who is a loyal fellow and a good supporter of mine.
Owner/trainer/jockey left Smiling at Galway
I didn't say it at the time but I thought Noel O'Brien (handicapper) was very hard on him and I didn't think he'd good enough to win today. We bypassed a run last week to come here as this was a nice pot and he might be a horse for a Galway Hurdle in time, off a light weight. He's only a handy horse and it'd be a waste of time running him on winter ground . he'd have his arse kicked by soft ground horses! He could run at Dundalk though.
Four on the spin for Windsor Park
Bay Of Freedom one to watch
I think a fair bit of him. I knew at home he came on a bit from his Listowel run. The experience stood to him. He'll be let off now and go for a winners' bumper in Spring. We'll keep his novice hurdle status until next season.
