Wills looks smart on jumping debut
He was about three weeks off where we normally start them but I just wanted to get him started off because the season doesn’t be long about going for these juveniles. I think he’s nice and we’ll have a lot of fun with him. He’ll get one more run and will be entered in all the races at Cheltenham. We got him at the Horses in Training Sale in October and then got him gelded. We do like him.
Stormy blows away Limestone opposition
Carefully has to battle back after blunder
He makes hard work of it. That’s twice he’s been taken out of a race with what appeared race ending mistakes but has come back. He stays all day and his jumping is generally safe. That will be good experience for him. He doesn’t look the fastest but I think he has more speed than he looks at least over that sort of trip. . He’s qualified now for the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham and it looks like that’s where he’ll go. I think better ground won’t inconvenience him over a trip.
Getaway gives Mullins & Townend treble in style
A much more positive approach today paid off for us and the horse loves jumping. I thought it was a tremendous performance and he galloped all the way to the line. I’d imagine we’ll be looking at the Ballymore for him. He handled that ground well and I’d imagine a big horse like him would always prefer it but I’m not making him ground dependent at the moment anyway.
Wolf proves game for Rothwell and Short
We’ve had a lot of seconds since Christmas. The horses are flying but they were just hitting the crossbar. This horse had a nice light weight and he stayed at it well. I thought he got too big a penalty for winning the type of race he did in Thurles. I was delighted with his run in Fairyhouse the last day and I thought the only way we were going to get another day was a light weight and go a good gallop.
Behavior finishes Best to snatch victory
He pulled out the stops there. It was a funny race as he made a few mistakes and Barry wasn’t that hard on him until he began to realise he might have a chance in the straight. The ones in front went quick enough and were tiring and he had a bit more toe to keep going. Hopefully there is a big handicap in him some day.
Billaway makes it four for Mullins in hunter finale
He’s booked his ticket and is still a young horse. He looks a Foxhunters type and that’s what we bought him for.
