Kurpany scores in fine style on debut
I think he is very good and we worked him up the Curragh the other day and I thought he was a Group horse. He is going the right way and did what we expected. He is a Mayson but I think he wants good ground and hopefully he goes on. We'll see if an offer comes in and if not we'll go for a winners' of one and bring him along gradually. We think a good bit of him and he has loads of pace.
McCreery and Crosse on the mark again
She was thriving all summer and I said I'd give her a bit of a shock and try her in a visor, so obviously they worked. The ease in the ground probably helped too as she didn't feel it as much. She is versatile (ground wise) and is there for the apprentices to ride. There was another girl in the yard going to ride but she was too low for her to ride. She wins and pays her own way and the kids can ride her so what more do you want. She leads the two-year-olds every Thursday and we'll look for another race with her somewhere.
Slattery & Coen double up with Cityman in feature
He was unlucky at the Curragh as he was stopped when coming with his run and was entitled to win that. My other horse today Sunset Nova was unlucky there as he missed the break and was back a long way. Cityman will have an entry in the Scurry now and six is his best trip. Both are good consistent horses and we'll try and get Sunset Nova's head in front now. Ben rode Cityman the last time and they have their own horses to ride so they were the riding arrangements.
McCreery completes 39/1 double with Memyselfandmoi
She is a very well bred filly and it was very important to get her to win as she is the first foal from the mare. The mare is a smashing mare and is a half-sister to Daneleta who is the dam of Intense Focus. She is five lengths better going that way and a bit of ease in the ground helped. We'll try and get black-type with her.
Killourney makes it a 159/1 Tipp treble for McCreery
He is a big honest horse who did it well in Gowran and did it well today. Bill said the track was a tiny bit tight for him and he'll come on from that. Pat Grogan from Killourney owns and bred him (as part of the Rachra Partnership) and they have a better looking half-brother by Kodiac to sell this year!
Kangaroo Valley bounds home at Tipp
Whatever gets out in front doesn't seem to be coming back and I decided to make plenty use of him and he stuck at it well. I haven't been riding him but he gave me a nice feel today and he did it well.
