Barnaviddaun "a well deserved winner"
He was good. His last two runs were probably a bit sharp for him around Leopardstown, and I was only getting to know him around Fairyhouse,. He stays well and is a big chaser in the making. He's a well deserved winner and it is great for his owner. There's no soft in the ground - it is yielding ground, no worse.
Downpatrick winner The Very Man will "be okay"
He's a grand sort. He had been beaten a few times, but in fairness to him he had some lovely runs and bumped into a few horses,. I like the way he stayed galloping, he'll be okay.
McBratney’s fancy for 20/1 shot Benefit North proves spot on
That was a great ride from Denis (O'Regan) and he's a great man to have on board,. He's a very, very pacey horse. He travels so easy and we knew he would travel at the top of the hill. He got a couple of lengths and was able to freewheel down the hill. I was expecting a good run. Bryan Cooper rode him in Leopardstown the last day and said he was only in second gear when he fell at the second last. The form has since been franked, so we thought we were going to be bang there today. There was a bit of money for him, but we have nothing to spend it on!
Space Cadet gives O'Loughlin and Harvey a huge success
Unreal, my voice has gone! A great pot to win and it is great for the owner to give me the horse. Ben (Harvey, jockey) had won his first point-to-point on him and, to tell you the truth, I thought he would run well today but I said to myself we would be going point-to-pointing again next year. It was a big shock to me, but obviously the blinkers worked a treat. I kind of had been holding off and holding off having them on him. I think they made all the difference and I probably have learned how to train him - the key to training him is not to train him! He hasn't done a stroke since he ran the last day. This is Ben's first winner (on the track). He comes into me as often as he can. He is in two mornings and he is a big part of the team. I just thought he knows him and the 7lbs off would help. He gets on as well as anybody with the horse. That's his (Space Cadet's) third National this year, so third time lucky!
Golden Sunset back up north for a return to form
On The Sod now four from four
He's kind of a very underestimated horse. He's shuffly and not a great mover and a very plain, workmanlike horse,. When the ground gets good, and it is just borderline for him now, I'd have to stop with him and that would be it. You couldn't run him on good ground. That's four from four now. He's just a tremendously strong horse - he just gallops and gallops. That hill is made for him. He actually would be far better going left-handed where he won at Kirkistown (point-to-point) the first day. I decided I would run him at Armagh (Farmaclaffley point-to-point) to see if we could come here. When he handled Armagh, I thought we might get away with running here. Next year there is one winner and two winner hunter chases but that is a long way away at this time.
Ballyadam brings up Elliott brace with a bang
The ground was too soft in Navan and he was a bit free, but he's a good horse.
