Patience a virtue for Jessica Magnier
That's the first winner in my name and we had many in Colin's (husband and owner) name; I have the licence in my name two years. He did it well and he is a beautiful horse and we always knew he had it but he is well named - Patience Patience. He'll win more hurdles before going chasing - he'll win lots of races.
No heroics needed as Indiana Jones wins readily
Chasing! He is 17 hands but I wouldn't think he'll go chasing this season. He was big and raw and is doing it very well every day. He'll be a nice horse next year. I have some nice four-year-olds.
Majestic Maid off the mark over hurdles
she has very good form and we always thought a lot of her so would have been disappointed if she didn't do that today. That (2m4f) is as far as she wants on that type of ground but she'll be fine over it on better ground. We'll keep her going during the winter and she'll go for a Rated Hurdle next. I have 25 horses in training at the moment.
Notable win for Robert Murphy with well-backed Darrens Hope
Home By The Lee wins Cork's Grade 3 chase
it was a big ask having had just one run over fences and he jumped fairly well but got under one or two. He stays very very well and is a lovely horse going forward. I needed a good jump at the last but didn't get a wonderful jump but he managed to get away from it well and plugged on to the line.
Sean O'Keeffe rides out claim on Cork National winner
I love that little horse - he is a cracker and is so tough. He had a lovely mark and he is just a dour, dour stayer. He wants four miles, goes on heavy, is by Flemensfirth and is as tough as nails. There is a 3m5f handicap chase now and he could also go for the Welsh National over Christmas. I'm delighted for Frank Reynolds (owner) who has had a lot of winners but that is his first big winner. That's Sean's first National winner and he has also ridden out his (3lb) claim with that win. It's a grand way to lose his claim!
Same again from Maxine on handicap 'good thing' Dreal Deal
I was a small bit worried coming here so quick and ideally if he wasn't going up so much I wouldn't have ran. He has won five now and we can look forward to going to some of the better races and I couldn't be happier. I think two miles could be his best trip because if you are able to gallop all over horses over 1m2f and make them look slow, surely two mile is your trip. He stays, gallops, jumps, the ground and trip didn't matter, and he does seem to be a nice horse. When he initially had him, he looked a nice horse but lost his way with aspergillus and we had a crap year last year and hadn't a winner but everything is clicking into gear now. I wouldn't rule out running him in a Grade 1 at Christmas but I want to give him a break now and he is going for six week's rest. He is in a Pertemps Qualifier at Newbury on Thursday but we won't go - you people will be glad to hear that!. I haven't made a secret that I'd love to see JP McManus come on board the yard and a horse like him would be ideal. To train for JP McManus would be a dream and if the right money and the right owner came along, I'd consider selling him to stay in the yard.
No worries for odds-on Mullins mare in bumper
to be honest I was disappointed with her at Listowel (won there on debut by four and a half lengths), that's what I thought she'd do at Listowel. We probably didn't go fast enough then as she gallops and gallops. She wears a hood because she used to be a bit giddy but is much better now. We think she could be good and she handles soft ground. I imagine she could be one for the Graded bumper at Navan if it doesn't come too soon and I'd be hoping she'd stay to bumpers this year. It is hard to change this late in the season to hurdles and there is a great programme for her in bumpers - I think she has the class to go for races like the Aintree Bumper. She has plenty of size and scope and will jump a fence in time if they want.
