Larquebuse impressive in opening mares contest
It’s testing and I’d say it suited her. She’ll stay further and is a grand mare who will jump a fence. She’s had a break since her last run which suited her as well. The plan was to bounce out and make it as she stays well. We’ll have about 40 working here either tomorrow or on Tuesday morning. All the main Cheltenham horses will be here.
Snow gets his head in front
I was hoping he would have won a race before now. We’ll probably look at Fairyhouse for him. Paul thought he handled the ground well and I was surprised how well he handled it.
Parcs makes winning return for Howard
He did that very nicely. I haven’t asked him a whole pile at home but what he has done he’s done it nicely. They went a good gallop today and he got to settle in great. He has the bit of class to travel and Barry gave him a great ride. I’m hoping he’ll improve a little. Hopefully we’ll find something similar for him in a about a month to six weeks time. He’d prefer a bit better ground and the staff in the yard have done a great job keeping him sound.
In form Wolf scores again
I thought the handicapper had caught up with him but I’d never seen him in as good a form as he’s been over the last three days. He’s like a horse possessed and has been in super form so it’s nice to come to the races and see it work out. Carol Hogan and Eric Newnham are super supporters of the yard so it’s great for them. There was a race for him in Navan next week but he wouldn’t love it heavy and I thought here would be the lesser of two evils and we got away with the light weight.
Partner strikes again at Leopardstown
He wasn’t showing much at home and he ran respectable in Thurles. He lost third place in the last 50 yards at Thurles and I wasn’t that hopeful today for that reason but I had to run him because the race really suited him and he’s won four times here before. It’s his track so I couldn’t not run him. I’m thrilled with that and obviously he’s a lot better here. He could come back here for something on the Flat.
Digger bounces back to form to give Brouder big win
That’s Gavin’s first ride for me. He gave it a good ride and the horse jumped great for him. He’s good value for 7lb. . He could go for something like the Randox Health Ulster National at Downpatrick.
