Ballydoyle newcomer wins at Listowel
he's a nice colt and had been working nicely at home and I think he can progress with racing. He was quite green early on in the race and was on anc off the bride with me but when the penny dropped in the last furlong I was always comfortable I was holding Pat (Smullen on Spryt).
Foley's backhanders help Bribe The Bounce
I'm after being on the wrong side of a couple of photo finishes lately so I was hopeful (of the judge's verdict) more than anything!. I was flat out for most of the way but he'll be a grand horse when he steps up in trip. The track mightn't have suited but he is a grand, big, genuine horse.
Satchel wins again for McGuinness/McDonogh
I was very close to not running him as that's as quick as he'd want it. Declan said he just got away with it. I've always said that he was a good horse. Everyone that rode him said he was a sprinter but he's stepped up in trip and seems to like it.
Talitha overcomes tardy start to win
she walked out of the stalls but when Chris got her rolling and kicked on and kept her going. Obviously she likes it around here and she handled the ground better than I thought she would. She was in season after the Curragh the last day and you can put a line through that run.
Headgear does the trick for Tamay
The cheek pieces seemed to make a difference. She got caught among horses the last day and Colin said she was not that keen to go through. I think she will handle easier ground.
Ballyadam rolls back the years for 7th win
he has been a great servant and he now won seven races for us. He won a novice hurdle here at the festival a number of years ago but he has been wrong for nearly three years. If he gets a clear run, he's a decent horse and we seem to be able to keep him sound now. We'll give him an entry in the Ulster Derby now.
Finian Maguire rides first winner
this is a super day. When I get home and watch the race a few times, I'll be calling it the best day of my racing career!. He (Finian) was mad into football and hurling for a long time and I remember saying to Sabrina that at least we won't have to worry about him coming home broke up (from racing). Before long he switched on though and he can't get enough of it (racing) now. The improvement in him in the last three years has been unbelievable.
