Mimicking makes pleasing debut
Kevin was very happy with her. She could go for the Marble Hill and maybe Ascot. She's a good-type filly and will be able to step up in trip. She was a little bit green but was on her own out there, and I thought she did it well from the stall she was in. She closed it out well.
Penny Pepper takes well to Irish racing
I trained the dam (Evening Time) and she was quite good [won two Listed races]. She belonged to the late Mrs Whitehead and won her maiden by nine lengths at Fairyhouse.
In Salutem sees it out strongly
He's a favourite in the yard. He probably hasn't won as many as we hoped or he threatened to. He runs plenty of times as he's a sound horse. He always saves a little bit for himself. He has always shown plenty of ability in his work. I suppose typical of a lot of sprinters he's sort of five now and sort of mature now and working nicely. He didn't handle the heavy ground the first day of the season and as a consequence was last but had been working nicely since. The drier ground helped him. He doesn't want it firm, just an ease in the ground is perfect. He leads some of our smart fillies at home like Newsletter. Hopefully we can aim him for some of the nice Premier Handicaps here at the Curragh. With a penalty for that he'll get into all the good sprint handicaps like the Rockingham and the Paddy Power. We'll look forward to another productive year with him hopefully.
Bolger and Manning double up with 50/1 shot
Pat O'Donovan rides him out regularly and told me the other day that he could be a Group One horse if everything fell right for him. Everything fell right today and he's on his way. Maybe this is the start of the rest of his career.
840/1 treble for Bolger and Manning
Parish Hall's a smart horse on his day when he gets everything right. The Mooresbridge is a possibility. He's been a little bit trying. I think he'll get back to the level he was at as a two-year-old. He's in great form now at the moment and he's moving real well and he's loving life at the moment. Loch Garman is on his way back. He got badly carved up in the French Derby the year before last, and it took a while for the wounds to heal. He missed all last year. He's coming back to himself now so hopefully we can have a good time with him still. He's all of 17 hands so he's probably a horse that would still be improving. It was a good run.
Papa's Way another for red-hot Hayes
The ground is just starting to go against him. Chris had him rolling down the hill and got them on the stretch. He's riding out of his skin at the moment.
Sandro Botticelli illustrates his ability
It's grand that he's won first time and hopefully he'll come forward. He's sleeping at home but is obviously better on the track.
