Doyle & McManus make the perfect start with Geste
He was a bit green up the straight but seems to cope with the ground fine. I think there is a lot of improvement in him. He was green in Thurles and on and off the bridle, and the same up the straight today. We like him a lot and hopefully he can go forward from here. He's the horse who pulled up in the breeze up in Deauville where I bought him for six grand last summer. Since I've bought him, everywhere I've brought he's finished in front. We are just taking baby steps with him so hopefully he can improve again. That's my first runner today for JP. I don't know where he will go next. Today was nervous enough!
Easy win for well-backed Diamond
He ran a nice race at Naas, and we were hoping he'd come on from that run and he did. He'll probably go for the Pertemps Qualifier over three miles now at Leopardstown.
Blow gains workmanlike odds-on win
That’s his trip and he’s going to be a chaser for next year. We’ll try and find a three-mile winners’ of one for him somewhere.
Taaffe on the mark with Goose Man
He’s done that well for a five-year-old. He’s a horse that we like but he’s a baby. He jumped much sharper today and got a lovely ride off Andrew. He’s a handicapper and won’t be going any bright lights for a few years. I don’t think he’s mad about real heavy ground but I want him to learn. Down the line hopefully he could be a National type horse when he gets experience. (My son) Pat has been schooling him with Andrew.
Titanium justifies market support
He's a credit to the veterinary profession. He's had pedal bone trouble which in our outfit is imprinted on the memory after Arkle's difficulties. He had the pedal bone scrapped twice and he's racing sound. We thought he was a fair horse one time but I’m delighted with that. We'll need to keep going left-handed as if he does decide to hang it will be to the left.
Rapid completes treble for Elliott
He's a good horse. He won't have much more of it this year and we might look at the good bumper at Leopardstown (Dublin Racing Festival). A three-mile chaser is probably what he was bought to be and we like him a lot.
