Mullins thinking of the owners after Tramore win
Paul tells me she did it well. By the time I was through the gate and registered she was jumping the last. Paul was quite happy with how she jumped and we'll just go on novice hurdling with her now. She had been consistent in bumpers and I think she'll be fine over hurdles, she'll earn her keep.
Well-bred Trees Valley on a roll
She is better in front. I didn't get much time to talk to Donagh the last day. I kind of wanted him to make it on Friday but he felt they were going fast enough. He just didn't know her then really. She jumps better in front and even at home she is way happier in front,. The last day she was leaning a bit in behind but when she is in front she is way happier. She was way more impressive there. Hopefully she will improve away. I still thought the two miles today might have been a bit too sharp for her. She'll win a chase somewhere too. I actually had her half-sister (Twin Plan), she was average for a while as well but ended up winning six. She is related to Valley Henry too, it's a good pedigree. She always had ability but we just weren't getting it right with her. She is in again at Sligo on Wednesday and I'll see what the handicapper does tomorrow before making a decision on that.
Ya Boy Ya deservedly gets a turn over hurdles
On to Killarney now for Alice after Tramore win
She is a home-bred filly so it's great to get a win out of her. She was a bit disappointing a couple of times, I thought she would have won before now. That family seem to get better with age. She is a fine mare and is probably only filling in to herself,. Her owners will get a great kick of that. They used to own Neddyvaughan but they took over this one when he had to retire. I'm delighted for Aidan too. He is with me full time and he works really hard. He is a good rider too and it's great to give him the opportunity. It was the plan to make all, she gets the two miles well. She is in at Killarney on Thursday and she'll probably go there now. Hopefully she can build on that. She wants good ground and I'd say that's what happened her at Wexford, the ground had gone against her. There was only five runners there so we had to take our chance. The ground is key to her though.
