Doyle & Fogarty win Tramore opener
he ran in a bumper here and I booked Jane Mangan because I thought he'd run well but he never picked up the bridle - it was embarrassing! . He has improved with every run and I don't know how good he is but Mikey said he jumped amazing today and his future is over fences.
Mangan off the mark for season on Shouband
I thought I was always holding on and I suppose it wasn't much of a race.
Burke rides Tramore specialist to another win
that was nice and she is wicked game. Jonathan said she missed the third last so he sat and he knew she'd come up the hill. I'll look for something at Listowel for her now.
Master Kiely on the mark at Tramore again
I'd say he likes the track, he won here before and we thought he was lucky. He worked for it today but he was lucky to hold on, the other horse was catching him fast. I'm delighted for the owners who have had a lot of patience with him. He ran a few disappointing races for some unknown reason but it is great when he wins. I think we will go jumping with him quick enough because I'd say he will struggle in the handicap over hurdles. His owners (Express Racing Syndicate) are retired prisoner officers and they are from West Cork.
Upazo scores for Mullins & Walsh
the conditions of this race suited him well and he jumped well considering he got an awful fall the last day in Limerick when running a really good race there. I was hoping if he got over that fall that he'd have a chance and thankfully it worked out. I don't know where we will go from here but we'll look out of a winners' of two novice chase. I'm happy with him over that trip or two and a half mile for the time being, it probably just gives him more time to jump and get his confidence back. Ruby said he tried to pull himself up when he got to the front so we might put cheekpieces on him the next time to keep him concentrated.
Ted & Ruby team up for Castletown win
The plan was to make it but he was wiped out at the start. Ruby was lucky he didn't break his toe. We had to go to Plan B then and that was just to let Ruby do what he wanted. He won around here before, he is an ordinary horse and it was an ordinary race. It was nice to win. He is a 0-95 horse, he is a good leaper and he needs quick ground. He handles this place well and there will be another one in him somewhere along the line. Denise Entenmann owns him. It's a pity he didn't win last week as Denise was home but we will take it when it comes.
Patrick Mullins registers 400th winner
she has improved nicely but I didn't expect her to win a bumper like that. She has a lovely pedigree, likes this dry ground and will probably try for a winners' bumper. She can also go hurdling or she might even win a maiden on the flat.
