Call Me Pj times it just right
It worked out well in the end, but I wasn't sure during the race what would happen with the other horse being so far clear. He needs a bit of cover and it was his first time running on that kind of ground so we weren't sure how he would perform. He jumped well and travelled well and we're happy enough. He could head to Fairyhouse for either a handicap or a novice. He got a bang before he was due to run at Leopardstown in January and was very sore for a week or ten days. We were worried enough, but thank god it cleared up. He's a horse that wasn't settling and was desperate free. He's settling now and is a different horse, hopefully it stays like that. He likes good ground and will go back on the Flat during the summer.
Grand Partner does it with a flourish
We need to go left-handed with him. He had two lovely runs in Leopardstown and I thought he had a chance in the Pertemps (at Punchestown), but David said he wasn't as good right-handed and he was proved right today.
Stratos off the mark over jumps
He was entitled to do that the way he won the bumper in Punchestown. He just doesn't jump the greatest but he's getting there,. The further he went the better he was and we'll probably go up in trip. I'd say to three miles.
Vedettariat rounds off great week for Mullins
Heathfield brings up Townend treble
He's a great man the owner Joe McGee. I'm delighted for him as he was a long time waiting as the horse had problems. Fair play to him he stuck with him. He's based in London and unfortunately he's not over today. Him and Patsy Byrne are best pals and they've both been great patrons for me. Joe had a bit of a mishap with his sight a few years ago but he's been in good spirits. Hopefully this fella might have another day or two in him. It was a weak enough race for the pot. Two out you'd say he was in trouble, but stamina won the day. He loved the ground and the track.
1247/1 four-timer for Townend
He's a bit of a tricky customer and keeps a bit to himself. He couldn't have had a better man aboard today.
Art Of Security takes bumper spoils
He's a fabulous horse. He'll go out to grass now for the summer as he's very weak. The fact that he was able to do that on that ground I was very impressed. He's a good horse.
