Kitty Rose has 1,000 Guineas aim after Ingabelle success
She's a big honest filly and when she gets into a rhythm she gallops towards the line and she gives it all. We always thought we had a nice filly on our hands. Obviously, first-time out you hope everything goes well, we were hoping for a nice run but she won impressively at Naas. Today she was very impressive again, when she picks up she just keeps galloping and she's very honest. The lads are looking at the Guineas with her, next year she'll be a stronger filly. She won't have any problems over a mile as well. This is a great achievement for everyone, for the lads working in the yard and for the owners as well. Everyone puts in so much effort, so it's great for everyone to have a winner on a day like this. We'll see how she comes out of this race and talk to the owners and see what they would like to do. We would like to give her a bit of time in the winter to fill out, she's a big filly and she will benefit for a winter break as well. She'll be a nice three-year-old and we're looking forward to having her next year, hopefully we'll have her.
Diego Velazquez leads home his stablemate in Foxrock Group 2
We're very happy. We liked the second horse a lot and we knew we needed something to take him and stretch him a little bit,. They didn't go very fast for the first half and turned it on from halfway, so he learned a lot. Ryan was delighted, he said he had to catch hold of him and make him learn. He's still a baby. We were surprised the first day that he ran in the Curragh how babyish he was, he never took a hold of the bridle. Today he was green as well, but a lot better. We think the race will leave him in a very good place. I'd imagine he'll go for the Racing Post Trophy, that's what we thought he would do. We think he's going to step up loads from it but we were very happy with what he did today. The plan was to come here and then go to the Racing Post. We did it with Auguste Rodin last year, but we knew this horse had to learn a lot more than Auguste did last year. He was extra green at the Curragh and we knew unless he was going to learn a lot this time it was going to be very hard to pitch him into a good race after that. We think he will.
Tahiyra all class for Weld and Hayes in Matron
No matter how many Group Ones you're fortunate in life to win, that will always go down as a special one for us. All the pressure was on this filly, she'd won the Guineas and won at Royal Ascot. Some of the other fillies she'd beaten had fallen by the wayside, but she keeps winning. Leopardstown has been very lucky for me and the way to ride Leopardstown, like most tracks, is to just keep it simple, to ride her with confidence. We knew there would be a good pace on, they are very good fillies and it was an excellent renewal of the race, I'm sure the time is good. She's a very talented filly. She was 8-10 kilos heavier today than when she won at Royal Ascot and I was just very happy when I saw Chris cruising there on the outside. I said to just take your time and gradually get there, that's what he did. She's an amazing animal and I've a wonderful team and it's great for them. We've lots to look forward to with her. I said it was one day at a time with her and we'll see how she comes out of the race. Obviously the Breeders' Cup has to be a possibility and a decision will be made on whether she's kept in training for next year. There is lots to looks forward to.
Auguste Rodin back to his best in Irish Champion Stakes
Aidan has done everything and he has done it probably five, six or seven times. He (Auguste Rodin) has obviously had an up and down year but, when he has turned up, he has been very good. He's just the most beautiful-moving horse and he was in a real good place today. The reality is probably going from a Derby to an Irish Derby and then a King George, not many horses can do it. Maybe he wasn't in the right place that day (in the King George), but he has beaten a real good lineup here. I'm delighted, I'm really happy. He has proved today that he is a very good horse beating the older ones. He has just always shown so much right from the start. I'm just delighted that everyone at Ballydoyle was able to get him back and show him at his best today. Nice ground is important to him and he just floated around here, he's a beautifully balanced horse. He just did everything perfectly. To come back and do it again, there is a lot of satisfaction in that. I have to thank Michael (Tabor) for having the confidence in everybody to relax and calm down and come back. Ryan gave him an incredible ride. We're so grateful to so many of the team that made it happen. He was always a brilliant horse, all the way along, from the first day he worked. He travels like a dream and has an awful lot of natural speed. He's a little bit lazy when he gets there. A couple of times this year it just all went totally wrong. All the ducks went against him, you usually want them all to go with you, but it all wen
British-raider Flight Plan navigates Foxrock in good style
O'Brien and Moore in full flow for day one treble
I'm delighted. Ryan said if he had a choice of 10 or 14 (furlongs) he'd definitely go 10 on him because he relaxes, but he does quicken,. He's a lovely big horse and we've always viewed him as a next year horse. We always thought he was kind of like Duke Of Marmalade, as he's after competing in big ones and getting very close in them but he's such a big horse that he's definitely going to have to be a way better horse next year.
Satin shines during Irish Champions Festival
She was good. I thought she'd run very well, she was very unlucky in the Shergar Cup as she got locked in and I thought that was her day with the small field there. The cheekpieces helped her today, she wasn't intimidated by the other horses which really helped. She showed a great turn of foot. I was worried for a second that he would get her out and then it was grand. We did a lot of shouting!. She's a good filly. We thought a lot of her last year and we ran her in the fillies' Listed race here last year, she finished 10th in it and we were disappointed. She's won on slow ground, but Shane said she absolutely hops off that good ground. We'll look for a stakes race and hopefully keep her in training next year. She'll be a lovely mile-and-six filly.
Broadhurst makes it four winners for O'Brien and Moore
We had him going to Ascot for the Britannia and then he got injured. Then he came back and he wasn't working well,. We knew that he was on a very good mark, but he wasn't working well. Ryan rode him to feel his way. He gave him a chance, they went fast and when he straightened up he took off. After he ran in Naas we were very happy and he went lame for a while, so we had to get him back and he wasn't working the same way he was. Obviously, he went asleep, but he was in off a good mark. He did very well to win and he gave him a great ride. They went fast up front. I thought seven around there, and he was drawn wide enough, that it was going to be tough.
