Sr Cartage gains important win
I was down the track at the furlong and a half mark so I didn't know, but in fairness to Jerry Hannon (commentator) when he calls your name first you know you are in with a good chance. Kevin said that she handled the track okay, he said that the ground is very heavy, very testing, it's probably not ideal for any flat horse, but he said she stuck at it well and she probably wants to go a little bit further.
Radanpour impresses at Gowran
He did it nicely, he is a progressive colt. We will probably look at running him in the King George Cup at Leopardstown, the race that was formerly called the Nijinsky, on June 5th,. He coped very well with the ground but I wasn't worried about it coming here. I didn't think they'd race yesterday evening.
Two for Weld and Roche with Tuk Tuk
He (Tuk Tuk) did what we hoped he would do. He ran a nice race first time out and he has progressed well. He loved the mile and a half here and he is from a wonderful staying family. The dam is by Sadler's Wells, the grand-dam is by Shirley Heights, and the great grand-dam is by Ile De Bourbon, so it's a very much stamina orientated pedigree. I'd say the further he goes the better he goes. It's lovely for Leigh to ride two winners, so far. He is a very capable rider as we all know and he never lets us down on the big occasion.
Tawseef credits Bowe with a Flat success
It was expected. We gave him a run the last day, his form was over a mile and a quarter and we thought a mile and a quarter was still his trip. He ran okay then. Connor got off him and said to step him up in trip. We did and we were very keen to keep Connor on him. He will mix it now during the summer, between hurdles and the Flat, and I'd say his whole campaign will be geared towards Ballybrit. The syndicate (First Not Last Syndicate) that own him are from Galway and we'll try to find something for him there over hurdles or on the Flat.
Weld and Roche dominant at Gowran
He got an excellent ride from Leigh. They went very quick in front and that's why they cut out and he came home. He has gone from the polytrack to here and I'm just delighted he has won a race,.
Jail shows his true colours
Wicklow shows his class again
He has been a little bit quirky at the start a couple of days over jumps but he had been in stalls at home and he was in them again yesterday. I rode him myself at home and he was fine,. The race went smooth for me, he travelled great. The ground is not that bad, for me anyway. He quickened up well in the straight and he put it to bed once he got by the filly, and he galloped on well to the line. He had the ability going into the race to do that. I think he could be kept on the Flat for the summer. I haven't spoken to Willie but I don't think there is too many jump races for him over the summer given his rating. He has won his maiden here now and I think Willie can look at a few more Flat races for him now and see where he will progress to. He will handle nicer ground a bit better as well.
