Derby trial next for Leopardstown first time out winner Buckhurst
He's a very nice horse. I was a little bit surprised that he won at a mile first time, off a slow pace,. Donnacha was very happy with him. I'd imagine we'll probably step into a Derby trial now and go from there. I was very impressed with him, the horse in front got the run of the race and there was strong word for a couple of others in the race. He's well bred, he's related to The Gurkha and obviously he's by Australia.
Never No More lands Leopardstown Guineas Trial
We're delighted and he came forward lovely from Naas,. Donnacha liked him in Naas and we liked him last year, Ryan was delighted with him. He got a nice position and when he eased him out he found plenty for him. He was very happy with him. Obviously he'd be very happy with nice ground but he handled the ease well today. We could look at a Guineas with him, either France or England — he could be a French Guineas horse.
On to the Guineas now for impressive Leopardstown winner Kaya
Everyone kept asking me about her, and what a bad tipster I am. I was really worried about her staying the trip on the ground,. At the back of my mind in the bits and pieces we've been giving her I wasn't sure she was going to stay. I said to Robbie today to just let her jump and travel and keep her together. He said it was like a piece of work and that she'd blow harder at home. She has Guineas entries and I was really worried she wouldn't stay the mile but the way she won that you'd have to go for the Guineas. Well done to Joanne because it was such a brave move to hang on to her. I'm so lucky to have her and everybody at home has done a great job. They knew just not to talk to me this morning! The other horse that was to run (Breaking Story), I was really looking forward to running him, had a stone bruise so the yard was a bit quiet this morning.
Brendan Murphy off the mark in the training ranks thanks to Annie
I was a little bit surprised at the pace that was there but was delighted to see her getting dropped in because it's difficult to try and pull her back and slow her down,. In fairness to Adam he rode her to absolute perfection. I couldn't be happier with him. We've been waiting a while for this. I always knew she was capable of doing something like this. She just has to try and go out and do it with weight on her back now. That'll be the next move. We're based in Kanturk in Cork and I only took out the trainer's licence at the tail end of last year. We're only getting going now and we've a few nice horses in. We have four in training and eight in pre-training. After that performance I'm starting to really look forward to things. She's the first winner and thank God we've that one out of the way. We've only Flat horses in at the moment and we're leaning towards the Flat. The family have always been involved in breeding and we have some home-bred stuff to come on later in the season. I was involved in motor sport for a long time and it's only in the last eight years or so that I've taken more of an interest in the racing. I spent some time with Willie Mullins and was travelling head lad there for a while.
97/1 Leopardstown treble for O'Brien and Moore
Dont Quit wins Leopardstown finale for Gorman and Cleary
He wants a bit of cut in the ground and he's been a consistent horse. He's always knocking on the door so he's deserved his win,. He's a tough horse and all he wants is that little bit of cut in the ground. He's tough and courageous - he gives it his all every time he runs. They are the kind of horses you want to train.
