Cheltenham bound Lindenhurst wins opener
he's great! That's seven runs, four wins and three seconds and to win today was remarkable considering he jumped left. Guitar Pete got to him but he pulled it out again and he's becoming a good horse now. The plan today was for Guitar Pete to come and get us. We didn't do that last time when we 'sat' and he got to us too easily. He's probably slightly better going left handed and he'll get a break now. He's is fully entitled to go for the Fred Winter but we'll see what rating he gets; he's not big and wouldn't want a big weight. When he won on the Flat at Hamilton he hung left; he may have a little issue with his fetlock or something and we have time now to try and get that right.
Harrington records sixth win in two days
he (Hurricane Ridge) ran well at Listowel for a long time when the ground was just too deep; I thought today, on good ground, everything was right for him and he even got to the front a bit too soon and pricked his ears!
Tobac Brun scores for Doyle/O'Connell
his experience stood to him and he jumped very well. He didn't like point-to-points and fell three times; maybe it came a year too soon for him but he then won his bumper first time out. It's probably also the first time he's had a bit of nice ground today as well. We'll go handicapping with him; he's only small so we'll stick him in a nice handicap off a low weight.
Another Crafty performance from the Butcher
'Elderly' Europe wins Gowran's Champ Chase
definitely representing the elderly!. but also expressed his delight with the display, with his mind also fixed on future plans. that was great and every time he (Sizing Europe) runs it's a relief as you are thinking that some time he will show he's not up to it as much as he was. I say it everytime but we're so lucky to train him; he's incredible. The work he's doing at home is great and the lads can't hold him! He loves it and Rosemary, who does the Flat work on him, writes notes everyday and they just say 'he's in super form'!. Andrew (Lynch) said he gave a nice blow at the second last and he should improve a nice bit. I wouldn't mind stepping him up now and giving him another crack at three miles on good ground. He deserves another shot at the race in the north (James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase at Down Royal) as he was second to Kauto Star in it and just lost out to Quito De La Roque. There are so many other races but he might just be a bit slow for two miles now. I thought Baily Green ran savage and it was a good advertisement for last year's novices.
For Value wins again, still for sale!
he's a mighty jumper and a big honest lad. He keeps galloping and keeps jumping; that's what they want in the UK and mine are all on the market!. we'll give him a break now and where he goes depends on the ground. He could be a Paddy Power (Chase) horse over Christmas or maybe something like the Midlands National at Uttoxeter or the John Hughes (Topham) Chase at Aintree would also suit him.
